Meet our artists / Amanda
My name is Amanda Brown I'm 28 and I am currently employed at Ventura Tattoo and Piercing as a Body Piercer in lovely Southern California. I was born in Missoula Montana but moved to Arizona with my family at a week old. Primarily raised in Arizona I spent the better part of my childhood there with my mother and two siblings. At the age of thirteen, I moved out of Arizona and over to Washington state where I spent five years living with my father. At nineteen I traveled in between states looking to find somewhere to plant some roots. The end of my journey brought me back to a small town in Northern Arizona called Wickenburg. The town is known for its rich mining in minerals, gold, and silver. I spent eight years in Wickenburg reconnecting with my family. While I was in Wickenburg I was able to explore career options. Being able to do so gave me a lot of insight as to what I really wanted to do for the rest of my life. I worked as an in-home caregiver specializing in wound care, the job was so rewarding but the final goodbyes were the hardest. Eventually, I decided it wasn't for me, after that, I got into management and worked as assistant manager up until the move to California. These two jobs stuck with me the most because of how much I learned and the relationships I was able to build with co-workers and clients. About eight months ago I got a call from my fiance asking me if I would consider moving out to Ventura. I said yes and took a leap of faith and relocated where both he and I now reside. Shortly after getting here, I was given the opportunity to come and join the crew at Ventura Tattoo and Piercing as the body piercer. Being new to the industry I was a little intimidated at first. But thankfully I was lucky enough to be trained by the best. They brought in Niles who is a former piercer of the shop and I was able to go through all my training with him. Being trained by Niles was a godsend and I caught on quickly, now I currently work full time here at the shop and I'm really happy to be here. Building a strong foundation for my relationships with my clients and co-workers plays an important role in everything I do. It's important to me to have both in any work environment to create a good positive atmosphere amongst us. Thus creating good overall moral of the shop building trusting relationships with our clients. I'm excited to see where this takes me and to grow as a piercer in the industry.
